As regal and exalted as their eminent reputation put them out to be, Singapore Airlines (SIA) aren’t free from making embarrassing gaffes too.
One of their Airbuses was caught in a pretty compromising position at Changi Airport Terminal 3 yesterday at 8am when its nose gear retracted, causing the whole plane to tilt downward. Oops?
Luckily no passengers or crew were onboard the Airbus A330-300, and even the engineer who had been conducting the (failed) landing gear system check was uninjured, according to various media reports.
Pictures of the incident showed that the damage to the plane was pretty gnarly. The plane’s front door had torn off as it was still connected to the aerobridge when it tilted downwards, while a mobile ladder got crushed underneath the plane’s nose as well.

It’s alright SIA, all of us have our down days too.
