Yelled threats, intergenerational friction, pulsing techno music, misunderstood accidents, rule-breaking, and smartphones being held up to record the incident. What a classic Singaporean Viral Video!

Yesterday, a young man claimed on Facebook that an older man kicked and pushed him while on an overhead bridge. It’s a typical he-said-he-said encounter, really — the older man allegedly reacted with violence because he believed that the younger man ran over his slippered foot while cycling on the path up the bridge. The younger man acknowledges that it’s against the rules to cycle up the bridge, but stated that he simply ran into the other party by accident, which didn’t warrant an aggressive retaliation.

Who knows who’s in the right? But the misunderstanding certainly erupted into a full-blown shouting match between the two parties on the overhead bridge.

In any case, the matter is serious enough for the boy to consider lodging a police report.
