Sheltered walkway collapses at Bukit Batok carpark, crushing a parked car

A freak accident this morning at an open-air carpark located in Bukit Batok saw at least one parked car getting absolutely wrecked by a fallen sheltered walkway.

The structural collapse is believed to have transpired around 9.30am when a lorry with an attached crane crashed into the walkway itself, which provided shelter between Blocks 116 and 118 at Bukit Batok West Avenue 6.

Fortunately, no one was in the vicinity of the crash site this morning — no injuries were reported in various reports.

The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force were dispatched to the scene, where they’re still figuring out how to remove the fallen structure. Our sympathy goes out to owner of the crushed blue car though — what a way to start the weekend.
