If you think receiving hilariously abysmal photos of your wedding day was bad, you haven’t experienced the agony of paying good money for a wedding photographer only for him to flake out and not deliver any pictures at all.
Such was the case for the newlyweds who go by Farhan Raman and Miha Han on Facebook as they recounted a nightmarish episode they faced with a once highly regarded photographer: Afiq Asmuni.

Clearly a talented photographer (judging from the pictures on his website and Instagram page), he must have bitten off more than he could chew and apparently failed to deliver the photos he promised to not one, but four newlyweds.
Charging a princely sum for his services, Afiq’s shadiness already started emerging when he chose not to draw up a standard contract with his clients, asking them instead to trust him. From January, Farhan started chasing Afiq to send over his wedding photos, only to receive petty excuses and requests for extensions across a few months. It was only in March that Afiq explained that all his files are gone — and even worse — he didn’t make any backup.
Who wouldn’t be mad pissed? Repeated demands for refunds went unanswered, and according to Miha Han, he said that he didn’t have the money anyway.

As if things weren’t bad enough, Afiq’s earlier association with renowned wedding photography studio Studiodua left the company’s reputation blemished, even though Afiq no longer shoots under them. Here’s what the studio said about his departure back in January:
In the wake of recent controversy however, Studiodua founder Fandy Razak had to speak out to defend his company’s repute. It seems like Afiq’s dastardly display of unprofessionalism was the reason why he was booted from Studiodua in the first place.
Like many others before us who tried, Afiq hasn’t replied to our queries.
This wouldn’t be the first time Afiq’s name popped up in the news. In 2014, he and his stepfather — both Singaporeans living in Johor Bahru — were violently attacked by armed robbers at a Shell petrol station just a five-minute drive away from the Causeway.
