The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced that it will extend the existing Sengkang West Way from Jalan Kayu to Sengkang West Road as part of the road network enhancement plan to support upcoming developments in the area, such as the redevelopment of the Seletar Aerospace Park.
The current stretch of Sengkang West Way between Jalan Kayu and Fervale Road is a dual-three lane road connecting Sengkang and Jalan Kayu areas to the expressway via Jalan Kayu. By the third quarter of 2014, a new dual 3-lane Seletar Aerospace Flyover across Tampines Expressway (TPE) will be an interchange which connects to the expressway and Jalan Kayu.
Construction of the extension will begin in the third quarter of 2015. Temporary barriers will be erected by an LTA-engaged contractor to minimise noise and any inconvenience to residents and occupants around the area.
