Run, don’t walk when it comes to getting freebies from McDonald’s in Singapore – because it might end up on Carousell for a ridiculous price.

Singaporeans seem pretty taken with the fast food giant’s current promo offer of a limited-edition Big Mac lunchbox that you can get for free by reciting a ‘secret code’.

But in this economy, of course, there will be some opportunistic individuals trying to make a quick buck.

100% profits only

The lunchbox (that is free, ICYMI), is going for up to S$40 on Carousell.

While there are some cheaper options on the platform going for S$1 and S$4, the average amount people are selling them for is around S$20.

Not a lot of the boxes are Carousell at the moment, given how recent the campaign is.

The lunchbox promo coincides with another deal currently running at McDonald’s allowing you to purchase a Big Mac Meal for S$6.50 instead of the S$8.40 it usually costs.

TikTok viral

A TikTok video by user @kerrynlee revealed the not-so-secret hack you can use to score one of the limited edition Big Mac lunchboxes.

Simple and straightforward, the “code” consists of these lines: Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun.

TikTok user @tripleshaiting did an unboxing video so you can see what exactly the lunchbox looks like when its dismantled.

Tbh, the double-layer lunchbox actually looks pretty practical and worth collecting whether you’re a Maccy D’s fan or not.

With the Singapore Budget on everyone’s minds of late, a lot of us are entering the tapao or meal prep era, so a cute lunchbox could certainly make that transition easier (assuming it’s free and not $40)>.
