A yacht became engulfed in flames and made a huge scene this morning.

The SCDF today said it was alerted to a “raging” fire aboard a parked yacht at the Keppel Bay Vista pier at around 11:30am this morning. No injuries were reported in the fire.

Firefighters rushed from the Marina Bay, Brani Marine and Alexandra fire stations to put out the blaze, which took about an hour to extinguish.

Thick black smoke rising from a boat surrounded by other vessels while firefighters engaged their hoses were seen in videos circulating online.

Photos posted by the defense force showed layers of foam from the extinguishers on and around the boat’s badly melted frames.

SCDF is investigating the cause of the fire.
