SBS bus crashes into traffic light in early morning Toa Payoh accident; 7 hospitalised

Early morning travel time delays were the least of these folk’s worries; seven passengers were sent to hospital after the SBS bus they were in crashed into a traffic light in Toa Payoh yesterday morning. 

Out of the 30 passengers on the 238 bus service, four women and three men were conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital after ambulances were alerted to the the accident around 6.20am at the junction of Toa Payoh Lorong 7 and Toa Payoh East, The Straits Times reports. 

Passengers speaking to Shin Min Daily News noted about the severity of the impact, which flung some commuters to the front of the bus. The injuries sustained from the accident were proper grievous — two women suffered broken bones, another suffered a cut on her forehead, while an elderly man bled heavily from his face, among many other wounds suffered by other passengers. 

SBS Transit has since apologised for the accident and sent their officers to the hospital to assist the injured passengers. The company is currently investigating the cause of the accident.
