Sometimes, when you’re walking from block to block or to bus stops, don’t you ever look up and feel eternally grateful for being blessed with a roof over the walkways?
Thankfully, a Facebook page is reminding Singaporeans to be appreciative and supportive of the government for building what everyone in this country so urgently needs: sheltered walkways.
The aptly-named page “Singaporeans supporting the government because of covered walkways” offers high praise to the point of parody, because it is satirical. Perhaps it’s a lampoon of die-hard People’s Action Party supporters who give thanks for every little thing in the nation; perhaps it’s just an absurd jest without any purpose. Either way, it’s hilarious.
The page has even attracted contributors who’re also celebrating the blessings of the government’s urban planning that have kindly shielded local residents from the blight of rain or shine.

Honestly, at this point in time, it’s a cult.
