The death sentence was handed down on Sarawakian Jabing Kho this morning in High Court for the murder of Chinese construction worker Cao Ruyin in 2008.
It was determined that Kho had exhibited a flagrant disregard for human life in the way he murdered Cao, with three severe blows to his head. Prosecutors proclaimed that the Sarawakian had beaten his victim to death with a piece of wood in an extremely savage manner.
Three out of the five judges of the Court of Appeal ruled in favour of the death sentence, TODAY reports. The other two judges maintained that there was insufficient evidence to firmly establish that Kho’s strikes caused most of the fractures on Cao’s skull.
