Christmas is fast approaching and Santa Claus (if you believe he exists) is making plans to give out presents, even in Singapore.

Thus in the spirit of practicality, what better way to deliver his gifts than to ride in a one-board open e-scooter?

This video was captured by Twitter user @syxrk (yup, Twitter still exists) in a tweet on Sunday, showing a man dressed up in a Santa Claus outfit riding an e-scooter as he zooms past a traffic junction in Bedok.

Mr “Ho Ho Ho” is seen in the video casually strolling past the traffic junction, waving at traffic as he crosses the traffic light.

As “Santa” reaches the other side of the road, one cyclist reaches out to high-five the man and The Bearded One follows suit in a really cute exchange.

The tweet has received more than 1,200 retweets and the video has been viewed more than 19,000 times.

Comments to the video ranged from a very enthusiastic “HAHA CUTE” to a cool “swaq”, which we assume is the super-millennial way of saying the word “swag”.

Some of the more iconic comments include Twitter user @_Chatterboxxx_ who said that maybe Santa is “on his way to meet his ho ho hoes”.

Another user, @LordCommandr, wondered where Santa’s sleigh went to and said that maybe his sleigh was not “LTA-approved”. Cue chuckles.

Either way, it looks like we’ll be doing some Santa-spotting this Christmas, which should at least bring some good holiday cheer after the mess of a year Singapore has had, as illustrated in a round-up by Internet humorist YEOLO.

With Santa abandoning his one-horse open sleigh for an e-scooter, it looks like Santa Claus too has a bit of a tech-forward swag to his name.

What’s next, hoverboards?
