The ulu Mandai Avenue sees a lot of traffic involving heavy vehicles; mostly trailer trucks and other big wheelers. An SMRT bus however collided into an especially huge one yesterday: a Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) vehicle with a Foldable Longspan Bridge.
TODAY reports that six bus passengers were injured in the accident, and SMRT have been providing assistance to them.
The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) issued a press statement saying that safety is the top priority for them, but did not mention if any of their personnel were injured.
“Military vehicles follow the Land Transport Authority’s guidelines on public roads and travel on routes approved by the authorities,” they wrote. “MINDEF and the SAF take a serious view of public road safety and are currently investigating the incident.”
