Roy Ngerng in deeper trouble for sending sneaky emails to media

Local blogger Roy Ngerng is sinking into deeper trouble as the week goes by.

After promising to remove four blog posts and a YouTube video as requested by the legal team of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Ngerng allegedly emailed local and international media, as well as undisclosed list of recipients, information on how to continue accessing the content.

The YouTube video in question was apparently also made ‘private’ instead of removed.

PM Lee’s Drew & Napier lawyer sent Ngerng’s representative M. Ravi a letter today, asking if he knew that his client did not intend to remove the YouTube video and that his client had sent the abovementioned emails.

In this Channel NewsAsia report, it’s revealed that Senior Counsel Davinder Singh also wrote in the letter, “the fact that your client misled everyone about his promise to remove the YouTube video amounts to very grave aggravation. If the two emails were sent by your client, then that would be further aggravation”.

M. Ravi’s response — which is now published on Ngerng’s blog The Heart Truths — was submitted at about 12:30pm on May 27:

In the response, M. Ravi raises Ngerng’s $5,000 offer of compensation to the Prime Minister.
