If you’ve ever been stuck in an hours-long traffic jam, or you’ve experienced some driver cutting into your lane without warning, you may be well acquainted with the feeling known as road rage — which is what this 42-year-old man experienced when he was driving along Clementi Road last Saturday (May 27).

Captured in a video, the incident took place when a lorry was attempting to filter to the right lane, but a car abruptly cut in front of it and pulled the brakes in the middle of the road. Angrily emerging from his car, the suspect stomped over to the 30-year-old lorry driver to demand that he exit his vehicle.

But the lorry driver remained where he was, out of fear for his safety. So the suspect did the only thing he could think of in that moment — he grabbed a large rock, opened the lorry door and flung it at the man. Even after the driver shut the door, the suspect continued to throw the rock at his lorry.

The man in white was arrested on Wednesday (May 31), following investigations by Jurong Police Division officers. If he’s convicted of the offence of rash act causing hurt, he could be facing a jail sentence of up to a year and/or fined up to $5,000.
