This weekend, those living in the northwestern side of Singapore will experience problems driving out to the city, since most of the road network will be closed due to fitness events and a religious ceremony.
Tomorrow, The North Face 100 Singapore race that’s taking place at MacRitchie Reservoir will affect the carriageway of Rifle Range Road in the direction of Dunearn Road from 6am to 11pm.
Due to the carriageway closure, the other side of the expressway – Rifle Range Road towards ST Kinetics Building – will be temporarily turned into a two-way road during that time period.
On Sunday, the Chua Chu Kang Big Farm Walk & Run, organised by People’s Association, will see the following roads closed to vehicular traffic between 6am and noon:
From 6am – Noon:
– Brickland Road (between Bukit Batok Road and Chua Chu Kang Avenue 3)
– Lorong Pasu
– Lorong Semangka
From 6:30am – 9am:
– Jalan Lekar
– Extreme left lane of Old Chua Chu Kang Road in the direction of Lim Chu Kang (between Jalan Lekar and Brickland Road)
From 6:30 am – 10am
– Extreme left lane of Brickland Road in the direction of Sungei Tengah Road (between Sungei Tengah Road and Chua Chu Kang Avenue 3)
– Extreme left lane of Brickland Road in the direction of Bukit Batok Road (between Sungei Tengah Road and Chua Chu Kang Avenue 3)
From 6:30am – 10:30am:
– Sungei Tengah Road (between Brickland Road and Lorong Pasu)
Later in the day, the Firewalking Ceremony 2014 – a foot procession that’ll start at Sri Srinvasa Perumal Temple to Sri Mariamman Temple – will affect traffic along the following roads on Oct. 12 and 13.
Roads closed from 2pm (Oct. 12) – 7am (Oct. 13):
– Temple Street
– Mohamed Ali Lane
Road diversion from 2pm (Oct. 12) – 7am (Oct. 13):
– Mosque Street will be converted into a two-way road for vehicles travelling though New Bridge Road
Roads closed from 3pm (Oct. 12) – 7am (Oct. 13):
– Birch Road (between Serangoon Road and Farrer Park Station Road)
– Extreme right lane of Serangoon Road (between Selegie Road and Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple)
– Extreme left lane of Rangoon Road in the direction of Race Course Road (between Serangoon Road and Race Course Road)
– Extreme right lane of the carriageway of Selegie Road in the direction of Serangoon Road (between Prinsep Street and Serangoon Road)
– Extreme right lane of the carriageway of Prinsep Street in the direction of Selegie Road (between Bras Basah Road and Selegie Road)
– Extreme right lane of Bras Basah Road (between Prinsep Street and North Bridge Road)
– Extreme right lane of North Bridge Road (between Bras Basah Road and South Bridge Road)
– Extreme right lane of South Bridge Road (between North Bridge Road and Upper Pickering Street)
– 2 right lanes of South Bridge Road (between Upper Pickering Street and Temple Street)
The public is warned not to park along the peripheral roads. Vehicles found causing obstruction will be towed away.
