In lieu of the National Day Parade happening at The Float @ Marina Bay this Saturday, Aug. 9, select roads within the Central Business District (CBD) of Singapore will be closed off.
Motorists are advised to avoid areas namely Raffles Boulevard, Raffles Avenue, Republic Avenue, Bras Basah Road, Nicoll Highway, Esplanade Drive, Bayfront Avenue, Marina Street, Marina Boulevard, Marina Gardens Drive and Marina Mall on the day.
Drivers heading towards Suntec City and Marina Square are recommended to take the Nicoll Highway or Beach Road routes.
The public is also encouraged to use public transport if travelling to Suntec City, Marina Square and Marina South.
Traffic arrangements will be made at certain lanes and roads (listed below) during different periods of the day:
In the event of overcrowding, places like Esplanade Waterfront Promenade, Marina Bay Sands and Merlion Park will be cordoned off. The pedestrian pavement along East Coast Parkway (Sheares Bridge) will also be closed to the public.
