One man’s attempt to evade a police road block along Mackenzie Road in the early morning hours of Friday (June 2) ended in a car crash and the hospitalization of two police officers.
Apparently, the 43-year-old man refused to heed the police officers’ instructions when they stopped him at the road block around 1am, reports The Straits Times. So he gunned his engine and zoomed off, forcing the police to follow in pursuit, and the car chase ended in an accident involving his vehicle and a police car along Normanton Park.
Two police officers were taken to the National University Hospital with minor injuries. The driver and his 34-year-old female passenger were later arrested for drug- and traffic-related offences.
Investigations are ongoing.
