Yep, you heard right. The nostalgic Nokia 3310 is actually making a comeback on our shores in October. And according to media reports, it’ll be going for less than $100 at all major retail outlets — way, way more affordable than any of the new iPhone models.
After a three-year leave of absence, Nokia 3310 leads the way in marking the return of Nokia mobile phones to Singapore. Originating in 2000, the talk-and-text phone will work on telcos’ 3G networks, making Singapore one of the first countries in the world to offer the 3G-compatible old school gadget, reported The Straits Times.
Available in four colors — yellow, warm red, azure blue and charcoal — the reimagined phone offers an improved user interface, more spacing between buttons and, of course, the classic game of Snake. It also features up to six hours of talk time and up to 27 days of standby time with a single SIM card.
Yes kids, there was a time when we didn’t have to charge our cellphones every night.
Finnish manufacturer HMD Global, which owns the exclusive rights to market Nokia’s phones, said that it made the decision to offer 3G on the Nokia 3310 to “allow more people to enjoy a modern classic reborn.”
The Nokia 3310 3G phone will launch in Singapore in warm red and charcoal from Oct 14 at $99. Available at Courts, Harvey Norman, Challenger, and selected A-Mobile authorized retailers.
