Had quite enough of Ah Boys to Men content to last a lifetime? Bugger off, Jack Neo probably said, as he signed up to milk his successful film franchise even dryer with a whole new episodic web series featuring the same cast of actors.
Moving away from the original army-themed premise, the boys are back to tackle THE WORKING WORLD (emphasis not mine) in a state-sanctioned weekly show that’ll premiere on Gov.sg this Friday. Not much is known about the plot of Ah Boys: Hidden Warfare, but from its promo trailer, it looks to be a workplace comedy series that’ll have characters navigate office politics and hard-ass bosses, with some wacky action sequences thrown in. Looks corny enough, but that’s classic Jack Neo for ya.
While most folks appear to be pretty stoked about yet another Ah Boys™ manifestation, some of the reactions to the announcement on actor Noah Yap’s Facebook page have been, uh, colorful.

Really though, you can’t blame the crew for wanting to excrete as much Ah Boys to Men properties as they humanly can. The franchise is considered the highest-grossing Singaporean franchise of all time, with all four of its films raking in over $26 million altogether. Say what you will about the cinematic quality of these movies, but people actually like this shit. Aside from the upcoming web series, there are plans to make a fifth Ah Boys to Men flick, which should be the last one in the franchise.
