As one of the few gorgeous 19th-century hotels left in the world, Raffles Hotel Singapore is one of the more recognisable landmarks in Singapore. But it’s been 25 years since its last facelift. So the hotel will undergo a restoration makeover beginning next year to redevelop the retail space in the Raffles Hotel Arcade, design new F&B concepts, and revamp some of the suites and rooms in the 129-year-old heritage and hospitality building.
The works will be conducted in three phases — one in next January for Raffles Hotel Arcade, followed by the main hotel building and lobby in mid-2017, then a final phase towards the end of next year, in which the hotel will close. Everything is set to be completed by the second quarter of 2018, when the hotel will fling open its doors for a grand re-opening.
