A righteous clapback at outrightly bigoted folks is a superb way to restore faith in humanity, so when Nhita (@abnorxmal on Twitter) launched into a thread about an allegedly racist mother and her child getting what they deserved, of course it started trending.
Story Time ☕️
My sister is a full-time tutor and recently a Singaporean Chinese student’s parent complained to the head of the tuition centre that she did not want her child being taught by an Indian.

The incident itself happened at a tuition center where Nhita’s sister works as a full-time tutor, but the victim of the story was the sister’s colleague, an Indian lady noted to be “well-qualified” to teach Science and Math. But it wasn’t the qualifications that one of her students had a problem with — it was about her very heritage. Honestly, we’d be livid AF if we were in her shoes when the kid suddenly whipped out a can of body spray and started spraying it in the classroom.
Why? Because the child said it was “smelly because of the Indian”.
According to the tutor, this cunt of a kid took out his/her body spray and started spraying it in the classroom complaining that it was “smelly because of the Indian”

The tutor was verified not to have a body odor problem (not that it matters). But what made matters worse was that the child’s mother actually agreed and tried getting the head of the tuition center to change the tutor. So we’re guessing that explains the child’s ignorant upbringing.
The parent brought this up to the head of the tuition centre, whom is also Chinese, thinking that he would understand and agree. Yknow like it’s some sort of we same same race so ni bang wo, wo bang ni type of shit

Righteous heads prevailed here, and the prejudiced mother and her child got the treatment they deserved. They were chased out of the premises with a broom, putting a new spin on sweeping the hate out.
The head of the tuition centre then proceeded to chase this racist Chinese mum and her kid out of the centre with a broom and telling them he never wants to see them step in his tuition centre ever again AHAHGSJAJAHAHAJA

Nhita then ended her story with a message of solidarity against racism, calling for all to stay woke for a more inclusive Singapore. Huzzah!
In short: We need more allies to combat the systemic racism left behind by the older, backward-thinking Singaporeans before it gets perpetrated down the generations

If this grown ass parent can tarnish something as noble as the gift of teaching with her bouts of ignorance and racism…yo…I got no words for you ♀️

Damn, this story blowing up shows that more young Singaporeans care about race issues than I actually thought. I hope this means that we’ll exercise our privilege wisely & not tolerate discrimination against race/religion/gender/sexuality. To a more inclusive Singapore!

Others brought up similar incidents in which Indians got unfairly discriminated just because of their race.
Brings back memories, our kids were starting off pre & primary schooling, parents of chinese decent wld coax their kids not to interact with “others” claiming foul BO, that the tan wld rub off on to them .. yes, in sunny Sg.
The govt had a role too, “divide & rule”, still does.— A.Wellesley (@Antoneyw) February 25, 2018
This happens to my colleague before as she’s an Indian. But I rejected the parents request of switching the teacher from me to her because I do not want to spoil her rice bowl and I don’t tolerate this childish stereotype of a race. Sad that it’s 2018, and this is a reality. https://t.co/JfDFTntWeW

I used to be friends with someone who refused to room with an Indian because ‘they smell’. I don’t know why I didn’t cut off my relationship with him before that. He did a lot of unacceptable shit. I’m disgusted by myself for befriending him. https://t.co/PREjFn5CBA
