Racing Towards Peace: Lotus F1 car auctioned off for over $90k for charity

A charity auction held last Saturday saw over $90,000 raised for non-profit organisation Peace One Day when a Lotus E20 F1 race car was sold to a well-heeled bidder.

The car itself sported a colorful redesign by Brazilian pop artists Romero Britto, and was unveiled by Lotus F1 team drivers Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado at the Museum of Art & Design.

According to Channel NewsAsia, it was auctioned off for £44,000, with proceeds going to Peace One Day, who aim to institutionalise an annual international Peace Day on Sep 21.
