As you might have noticed (through day-long headaches and stuffy noses) the past few days, the haze is well back in Singapore.
The latest forecast by the National Environment Agency (NEA) indicates that the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) is expected to fluctuate between the high end of the moderate range to the low end of the unhealthy range today — which hopefully will be eased up by thundery showers.
With haze observed in central and southern Sumatra as well as Malacca and the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, prevailing winds will only serve to make things worse should they become unfavourable. As of writing, the northern and western districts of Singapore are under the unhealthy range of PSI.
