Props to cabbie who returned HK actor’s wallet and refused reward

This is a Singapore Tourism Board campaign waiting to happen — come to Singapore and meet our honest drivers!

Hong Kong actor Chapman To has put in a good word about Singapore on his Facebook page for a remarkable experience he had with a cab driver.

“Encountered a good person doing a good deed in Singapore,” wrote the 43-year-old To in Chinese on Saturday, reports The Straits Times.  “As I was about to turn in, the hotel manager called to inform me that the driver of the taxi which I was in was waiting downstairs with my wallet.”

According to To — who at one point in his life had racked up a HK$1 million because of an ugly gambling habit which he has since licked — he had offered the driver a reward for returning his Louis Vuitton wallet.

But the cheeky driver, who is unnamed in the report, told him, “If I wanted money, why would I come back with your wallet? I could have just kept it for myself!”

Nice one, uncle.
