A vehicular accident in itself is bad enough, but this Porsche managed to smash into a road sign, a power box, and a tree in rapid succession, resulting in five streets’ worth of houses experiencing a power outage. The incident, which occurred along Carisbrooke Grove at Serangoon Gardens on Friday (Jul 28) evening, saw the dislodged power box causing 44 customers to lose their power supply.

According to The Straits Times, it is believed that the 44-year-old male driver was arrested for suspected drink driving. The police were alerted to the incident around 6:38pm. Singapore Powers received a call about a power outage in the neighborhood around 6:19pm, and arrived at the scene shortly after. A mobile generator was set up at 6:30pm and a second one 10 minutes later to provide the houses along Braemar Drive, Conway Grove, Brockhampton Drive, Chartwell Drive, and Carisbrooke Grove with temporary power.

After more than two hours since the accident, the power box was restored at 8:40pm. At 10:30pm, the tow truck was still in the midst of dislodging the vehicle from the tree it rammed into.

No injuries were reported (fortunately), and investigations are currently ongoing.
