If Nakhon Kitchen at Holland Village is your regular eating spot, do we have some bad news for you — the Thai restaurant will be closed for a fortnight because the management hasn’t been keeping its rat problem in check.

The popular eatery located at 27A Lorong Liput received an $800 fine and had its license suspended for two weeks by the National Environment Agency (NEA) yesterday after the outlet accumulated 12 demerit points over a period of one year. Aside from failing to keep its premises free of rodent infestation, the restaurant also failed to register an assistant with the agency.

“All food handlers working in the suspended premises would also be required to attend and pass the Basic Food Hygiene Course again before they can resume work as food handlers,” NEA wrote.

The Holland Village hot spot will have its license restored on Oct 29. But judging from recent customer reviews on Facebook, Nakhon Kitchen could perhaps use the time off to revamp its service quality as well.
