A laptop accidentally left on the bus is as good as gone, or so Chelsey Chow believed at first.
The polytechnic student was crestfallen — after all it held everything she needed and will need for school, especially since she had four presentations and five projects due in the coming weeks.
Even after rushing down to Eunos Bus Interchange to ask around for her lost laptop, she remained downcast about the chances of finding it.
“I mean, besides a wad full of $100 bills, i don’t think anything could be more tantalising than a lonely, vulnerable, unprotected laptop commuting alone on the treacherous journey aboard public transport, right?”, she wrote in a long Facebook post.
Lo and behold, her saviour came in the form of Ramasamy K, a sharp SMRT driver who rescued her laptop from the clutches of a man who tried to sneak away with her laptop.
“I think grateful is an understatement as to what i am feeling right now. Throughout the whole nerve-wrecking ordeal, all the SMRT staff were very helpful. Most of all, Mr Ramasamy was just about the sweetest and most genuine stranger i’ve met in a long while. He didn’t lament about the fact that i was causing him trouble and taking up his time or that i was careless, but told me to be careful the next time.”
