On Friday (May 12), the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) seized six improvised air rifles and a variety of drugs in a police bust. Two suspects were arrested separately in the vicinity of Tampines Street 86, while a 30-year-old suspected drug abuser was later arrested near Redhill Close. He was reportedly a client of the 41-year-old Singaporean male suspect, whose car was discovered to contain a block of cannabis weighing approximately 1kg (and worth almost $10,000).
CNB officers seized the six improvised air rifles, 5g of ‘ice’ and drug-smoking devices in the home of the 30-year-old. In the vehicle of the other 25-year-old Singaporean male suspect, about 20g of ‘ice’, 16g of heroin, an Erimin-5 tablet and other unidentified tablets were found.

If convicted, the 41-year-old man may face the death penalty. According to the Misuse of Drugs Act, offenders convicted of trafficking more than 500g of cannabis may be sentenced to death.
