Apparently, someone has been going around crafting bogus Singapore identity cards for Chinese citizens.
An image of the blue Republic of Singapore identity card has been spreading around on social media, with a netizen on the Hardware Zone forum warning people of such fakes.
The picture of the card has been spotted to look like a legit blue-coloured Permanent Resident document but one detail exposes it as blatant counterfeit — the IC number itself is off. His date of birth states that he was born in 1988, which by right should mean that the first two digits of the serial number should correspond with the number ’88’.

Also, his thumbprint looks like the forger just took it off Google Images. The address of 7 Bukit Batok Crescent is a real address, but The Spire is no residential building — it’s used for commercial, light industrial purposes.
Whoever he is, this Wang Rongbing dude better prepare for a world of shit if he gets caught using the fake IC. Under the National Registration Act, anyone who knowingly obtains or is in possession of or makes use of a forged identity card shall be liable on conviction to a fine of up to $10,000 and/or imprisonment of up to 10 years.
