Look, we expected the prevailing monsoon season to bring a cool start to 2018, but little did we know that we should have really emphasized the “wet” in “wet weather”.

In case you haven’t stuck your head outside anytime today, ’twas a proper stormy morning across Singapore — a continuous torrential downpour that caused flash floods in several parts of the east. Upper Changi Road, Jalan Nipah, Arumugam Road, Tampines Avenue 12, Bedok North Avenue 4, Sims Avenue and more were hit by rising water levels deep enough to cause more than a few vehicles to be stranded in the middle of flooded roads. News of the Public Utilities Board pumping in S$500 million to upgrade Singapore’s drainage network couldn’t have come sooner.

But enough words. You’re here to ogle at all the pictures and video clips sourced from social media this morning, so here they are in all their teh-tarik-hued, swampy glory.
