A security guard at People’s Park Complex got a taste of action two days ago when he foiled a robbery attempt and detained the thief before the police arrived.
The victim was remitting $4,000 to China when a 56-year-old man snatched the money from the victim and ran off. Hearing the victim’s cry for help, security officer Jason Jai Ganesh managed to apprehend and restrain the thief. A search on the suspect revealed that he was carrying a knife, measuring 20cm in length.
The 56-year-old transgressor might face punishment for both theft and the posession of an offensive weapon.
