It’s been almost a week since this young man got involved in a terrible hit-and-run accident, and yet there’s been no news of the suspect getting arrested.
It should have been easy — allegedly, the driver who knocked him down is an officer in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).
Last Saturday, Facebook user Nourra R Peter put out a call on her page, appealing for information to help apprehend the driver. Her brother had been crossing a two-way street between Yew Tee Point and Block 569 along Choa Chu Kang North 6 when he was hit by a gold-coloured car of unknown make, model and license plate number.
From the picture posted, he got hit pretty hard, judging from the mighty gash on his forehead. According to the victim, the driver — said to be a 40-ish Indian man in SAF uniform — got out of the car to see if he could get up. After doing so, he rushed off without even exchanging details.
Nourra and her brother have been urgently appealing for any witnesses of dashcam footage to come forward since last week. According to a report on Stomp, the wounds he sustained included a laceration on his forehead, a nasal fracture and injuries on his wrist.
