Partially-disabled man molested young girl who helped him cross bridge

Yong Kiam Khim, who’s medically certified with neurological issues that left him with a walking impairment, took advantage of a 16-year-old girl’s kind deed to molest her on Apr. 10.

According to Channel NewsAsia, the 59-year-old man approached the victim at the bottom of an overhead bridge along Dunearn Road, asking her to help him cross the bridge.

While crossing the bridge, Yong persistently conducted indecent acts towards the young victim – hugging, kissing, and touching her chest area – even when she insisted him to stop.

When he started pressing himself against her body, she struggled and broke free from his grip. She informed her friend about the incident and the police were notified.

This isn’t the first time Yong has committed such acts.

Yesterday, the court heard that he’d also sexually assaulted a 20-year-old woman on-board a SBS bus on Sept. 2 last year.

District judge Victor Yeo said that he’d exploited the young victim’s “compassion on account of Yong’s medical condition”, therefore sentencing him to three months’ imprisonment.
