Following the recent release of a rather disturbing deepfake involving the faces of male Singaporean politicians superimposed on a famed boyband, another piece of nightmare fuel featuring dancing female politicians has been generated.
Don’t be fooled, that’s not Blackpink – that’s the ladies of People’s Action Party’s (aka “PAPink”?). The clip, posted by the @forsg Tiktok account yesterday, (unfortunately) seems to feature prominent Singaporean politicians deepfaked onto the members of the K-Pop group’s music video for DDU-DU DDU-DU.
Although we can’t be sure exactly which politicians’ appearances were edited into the video, one reposter tagged Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Indranee Rajah, Minister of State for Social and Family Development Sun Xueling, Senior Minister of State for Transport Amy Khor and possibly MacPherson SMC MP Tin Pei Ling in their caption.
“Sir, got G4 how can dont have PAPink 💗💗💗💗 @TanChuanJin1,” @Forfsg wrote in the caption of the original clip.
G4 refers to the PAP 4G leaders, which consist of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong, Minister for Health Ong Ye Kung and Minister for Education Chan Chun Sing.

The men were deepfaked into the music video of the popular Taiwanese boy band F4 performing The Meteor Rain and reposted by Speaker of the Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin.
Deepfakes such as these are becoming increasingly easy to make even for those with little technical knowledge. The PAPpink video bears the watermark of the Deepfaker App, which anybody can download.
Deepfakes are known to have been used for sinister reasons but these sorts of manipulations, while perhaps just meant for laughs, are uncannily realistic enough to make some people’s skin crawl. Have deepfakes of local figures gone too far?
