Is Singapore’s beloved baby panda heading toward the terrible toddler stage? A very uncooperative Le Le was caught being adorably defiant today when outdoor playtime was over.
Her mama panda, Jia Jia, struggled to bring baby Le Le down from a tree in their shared enclosure in footage released by Caretakers Mandai Wildlife Reserve.
“Jia Jia trying to get Le Le […] Can any moms relate?” the zoo operator wrote.
Throughout the one-and-a-half-minute clip, Jia Jia tediously climbs up and down the tree after several unsuccessful attempts to bring the 10-month-old floof back into their indoor den. At one point, he clung to the highest tree branch and refused to let go.
In another moment, he repeatedly swats her away as she tried to wrest him from the branch. In the end, she gives up and goes back down in defeat.
“Le Le – 1 Jia Jia – 0,” the caption read.
It seems like the top of the branch is his favorite spot to curl up, as some commenters said he frequents the same spot.
Le Le moved in with his mum in March and has since put on significant weight.
