Our hazy days return as soon as Singapore Grand Prix is over

Call it a divine intervention if you will, but our hazy days are back — coincidentally right after the electrifying Singapore Grand Prix last weekend.

As of writing, the 3-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) rating is in the lower tier of the unhealthy range at 111, even though the 24-hour PSI remains in the moderate range.

The latest update on National Environment Agency’s haze microsite states that even though there has been a reduction with the haze from Kalimantan, it’s still well available over parts of Southern Sumatra.

Many believed that the authorities carried out cloud seeding last week to reduce the heavy onset of haze ahead of the F1 race in Marina Bay, but Minister for Environment and Water Resources Dr Vivian Balakrishnan sternly denied the rumours.
