The series of unfortunate events along Orchard Road malls continue. Yesterday evening, firefighters had to be called in to the Orchard Plaza carpark, where a fire broke out.
TODAY reports that the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were alerted to the incident at 6.50pm about a fire at the building’s B2 carpark. The fire, involving discarded items, was put out by Orchard Plaza’s security guards even before the SCDF arrived.
No evacuation needed to be carried out, and no injuries were reported.
Add this little mishap to the string of accidents that’ve occured along Orchard Road of recent weeks. Last week, SCDF officers had to battle a blaze in Lucky Plaza, and before that they had to attend to an Indonesian man who fell to his death in Wisma Atria. Part of a false ceiling at Hilton Hotel’s drop-off point area collapsed, while a slab of concrete fell from a pedestrian bridge outside Orchard Plaza as well.
