Oh nothing, just a crocodile chilling out on a pathway at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

Crocodile sightings at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve aren’t exactly rare occurrences, but it really isn’t every day that you get to see a wild croc in the flesh, just chillin’ out and basking in sunny rays on the walking pathway of the nature reserve.

Like this one, which was sighted by a group recently — footage of the majestic creature being the centre of attention was uploaded to the Nature Society (Singapore) Facebook page yesterday.

Obviously (and wisely), the group kept their distance.

At some of the more popular crocodile hangouts in the nature reserve, you’ll find warning signs and advisory notices telling you to stick to visitor routes and stay calm when you see a crocodile. Just back away slowly — whatever you do, don’t provoke the animal, and you’ll live to see another day be fine.

Most of the time, these creatures just mind their own business, so if you leave ’em alone, they’ll do the same to you.
