Singapore’s largest cycling event, OCBC Cycle, returns for its second year in October. But before we get to that, they’ve got 13 pre-event workshops and activities for you to sign up for. From May 14, for a donation of $6 to charity, participants can go for a healthy cooking workshop at the Singapore Sports Institute, teach underprivileged children how to cycle, join a cafe bike crawl in the North-East, get challenged at a fitness boot camp, take part in a cycling workshop, and enjoy the day at the family carnival.
On top of that, OCBC Cycle will support organisations like The Business Times Cycle of Home programme, SportCares Foundation and the Dyslexia Association of Singapore by donating portions of the registration fee to them.
As for the race itself, the four main categories remain: The Sportive Ride (42km), The Straits Times Ride (23km), Mighty Savers Kids Rides (for families with young ones) and the OCBC Cycle Speedway South-East Asian and Club Championships. Online registration starts today, and the first 300 to register will get discounts on the fee and a special goodie bag.
OCBC Cycle is on Oct 1-2. Prices start from $45 for The Straits Times Ride, $85 for The Sportive Ride, and $23-$74 for the Mighty Savers Ride.
