The Michelle Obama will sit down for an hour-long chat about her public and private life based on details she shared in her New York Times best-selling book Becoming at the Singapore Expo.

The former US first lady will be in town for the Dec. 14 appearance together with her husband, former US President Barack Obama, who was already announced to be addressing business leaders on Dec. 16 as part of the Asia-Pacific Executive Business Seminar held at the same venue.

Unfortunately, there are no plans for the American power couple to appear on stage together, organizer The Growth Faculty said in its announcement. The Growth Faculty is known for hosting talks featuring prolific figures such as British-American author and motivational speaker Simon Sinek, as well as former US first lady and US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Tickets for An Evening With Michelle Obama start at S$295 (US$210), with discounts for members of the American Association of Singapore. VIP tickets costing S$795 for members and S$895 for non-members come with priority seating in the front section of the auditorium, a red carpet experience, access to a pre-event cocktail party, and goodies such as a copy of Becoming.

Attendees should dress in smart casual or business casual attire and allow extra time for security checks as it will be a high-security event.
