Novak Djokovic joins Singapore team at Int’l Premier Tennis League

As they say in tennis, LOVE.

The great Eastern European tennis champ Novak Djokovic will be playing for the Singapore team for two seasons of the Coca-Cola International Premier Tennis League.

The circuit will be held in five countries starting Dec 2, with the grand finale at Singapore Indoor Stadium Dec 18 to 20.

In a recorded message to tennis fans in Singapore, world number one Djokovic said: “I have such a great team. And we are going to rock the stage!”

The local team is called Singapore Slammers and Djokovic’s teammates are former world number one Carlos Moya of Spain, Swiss teen sensation Belinda Bencic, current world number 12 Karolína Plíšková from the Czech Republic, Brazilian doubles specialist Marcelo Melo and rising Australian star Nick Kyrgios, according to a media release.

This is the second year of IPTL. 

As part of the upcoming SG50 Jubilee Celebrations, there will be a $50 discount off all tickets, to go on sale from Jul 24 to end of August.
