No smokes on display by end 2015

An amendment of the Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) Act, effective end 2015, will see cigarette packs being removed from all point-of-sale displays. 

The move aims to protect youths from tobacco marketing. 

Shops selling tobacco will have maximum 12 months after implemention to install storage so products are kept away from customers’ direct sight.

Some like NTUC Fairprice have already begun doing so, in fact.
