Cool kids who call East Coast and Pasir Ris home can kiss their late nights goodbye starting Nov 15 from Sunday to Thursday.
On those days, there are no east-bound trains in eight stations from 11:14pm: Bugis, Lavender, Kallang, Aljunied, Paya Lebar, Eunos, Kembangan and Bedok. The trains from Tanah Merah heading to Pasir Ris, however, will continue as normal.
The reason SMRT pushed the last-train timing 30 minutes early is to get its engineering staff to work on sleeper replacements every night until the end of 2015.
“With all 96,000 timber sleepers replaced with concrete ones and speed restrictions lifted, commuters will enjoy faster and more comfortable train rides,” SMRT promised in a press release.
