700-bed Ng Teng Fong General Hospital by Jurong Health Services set to open in December, will feature air filtration, window beds and an outdoor garden terrace.
These facilities were announced at the topping out ceremony on Jan. 20, and aim to provide utmost comfort to patients, regardless of whether they’re subsidised.
Wards will support privacy and provide ventilation, but will also be equipped with built-in features that allow air filtration in the event of a haze. There will also be fan-shaped wards with their interiors arranged such that each bed has a window to look out of.
Ng Teng Fong General Hospital will also feature an outdoor garden terrace on the fourth level. Nurses can wheel patients to and from the garden without having to take the lift and travel all the way to the ground level, aiding in patient recovery.
Says chief executive officer of Jurong Health Services Foo Hee Jug at the topping out ceremony on Jan. 20, “it is very important to have the right people who genuinely care for others in healthcare. Mr. Lim Yong Wah, our chairman, and our board have always reminded us to be guided by our vision, mission and look out for people with the right values to serve. We will always act in the best interest of our patients and to build a high level of trust with our community so that we can work together to improve their health.”
