Starting Sept. 30, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will execute a six-month trial for its vehicle height limit warning system along Upper Bukit Timah Road.
The system will alert drivers of heavy vehicles about the overhead road structures – such as pedestrian overhead bridges and gantry signs – as their automobiles approach it. A visual warning will show up to remind drivers to retract their crane booms.
Drivers who damage road structures are liable to a fine up to $5,000 or two-years jail term, in addition to the money compensation for repair works.
