With all the attention getting hogged by Changi Airport, folks aren’t so familiar with the other airport we have in Seletar.
The little known aviation hub in the north-east however is getting a revamp, as the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) announced plans to build a new passenger terminal building at Seletar Airport.
After a tender was issued yesterday, CAAS and Changi Airport Group expect construction to begin in October this year and should be ready for operations by end-2018. The new passenger terminal building will be established at the eastern side of the airport, and will provide improved facilities and amenities to accommodate growth of traffic.
Operations at the current passenger terminal on the western side of Seletar Airport will cease once the new facility opens. The upcoming plans are all part of efforts to relieve pressure on the endlessly bustling Changi Airport.
