New local mobile app Suburb allows you to interact with residents in your estate

Here’s one way to reach out to everyone in your estate — use mobile social app Suburb. The newly-launched local app, created by a pair of first time home owners, aims to be an alternative to existing Facebook groups, where people sometimes face the problem of verifying the identity of residents claiming to be part of the community. Using an authentication system, the device ensures that unwanted hecklers are left out of the picture.

On it, you can use the in-app messaging platform to chat privately or in a group with neighbours, create topic threads on issues that concern you, and recommend group buys of popular home products to one another. Or, y’know, you could just do it the traditional way by knocking on doors and gathering people together for a face-to-face talk. Whatever floats your boat.

Suburb is a free app and can be download for iOS and Android phones.
