National Gallery Singapore celebrated its 1 millionth visitor 7 months after opening

It’s only been seven months, and the National Gallery Singapore has already received its one millionth visitor. The lucky man was 47-year-old Ricky Chia, who visited for the first time with his family on Saturday, June 18. As a prize for (unknowingly) being the millionth person to enter the doors, he was welcomed by Grace Fu, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and received a gift pack that included an exclusive private tour and VIP invites to the October debut of the Gallery’s upcoming international exhibition, Artist & Empire: (En)countering Colonial Legacies.

Thanks to these guys who helped hit the milestone, celebrations will continue on to next weekend (June 25 & 26), where there will be free access and guided tours to all exhibitions, as well as pop-up market stalls, music performances, 3D life-sized painting backdrops and more.
