Gramophone Multimedia Pte Ltd on Sept. 18 that they were closing due to “difficult trading conditions and others challenges faced by the industry for some years now”.
Said administration manager Edward Abille in a press statement, “we thank customers for their past support and express deep regret for not being able to continue business”.
Gramophone, whose sole outlet was located at a prime ground floor spot at The Cathay, had been promoting their in-store sale (50-70% off blu-ray DVDs, CDs, DVDs and headphones) on Facebook since Sept. 13.
A notice on the Gramophone website reads, “we have closed the website due to weaker than expected response”.
