Paper parking coupons have slowly been a thing of the past since the new Parking.sg app (finally) launched in October, allowing motorists to pay their fees at public car parks through their smartphones.
But the convenient service has been limited to only car drivers… until tomorrow, that is. Starting Dec 20, Parking.sg will also be available for motorcyclists and heavy vehicle drivers, meaning they too can use the app instead of outdated analog coupons at all 1,100 public carparks across the island.
According to a joint press release by the Urban Redevelopment Authority, Housing & Development Board, and GovTech, the app has proven to be a hit among motorists since its launch, with over 300,000 downloads on both iOS and Android phones. Approximately 152,000 unique vehicles have registered more than a million parking sessions.

In addition, they’re planning to release new features for Parking.sg in the future, including the ability to export parking history and enhanced map features for better car park selection.
Those who refuse to go digital can still inconvenience themselves with good ol’ perforated paper parking coupons, though.
